illumination. Retains glass or plastic fibers spaced 2 inches on
center as follows: 1/8" S-8 fiber - 20 fibers,
3/16" S-24 fiber - 10 fibers,
1/4" S-36 fiber - 8 fibers. Specify Model FSL-51 for 45
degree illumination.
Applications:
Retail, display and museum lighting; task lighting for hazardous
or rough service areas
These systems consist of miniature optical profiles which can
be recessed or surface mounted in vertical and horizontal sections
of cabinetry, shelving and display cases. The input source is
light, not electricity, the light being piped by fiber optic
cable from a remote source. By tailoring the fiber diameter
(hence the light input) to the application, the system is adaptable
to high output (e.g., retail) or low output (e.g., museum) applications.
Choice of fiber diameter determines the number of optic profiles
which can be run off the illuminator source. These optic profiles
are best suited for accent and display lighting applications
where small size, negligible heat and no u.v. are required.
The numeric tables alongside each fixture indicate the nominal
fiber core diameters, expressed in fractions of an inch, that
will fit into each corresponding fiber strip light.
